Frequently Asked Questions – FootGolf

What is FootGolf?  FootGolf is a combination of soccer and golf. The game is played on a golf course (with enlarged target holes) and the objective is to kick a soccer ball into the hole with the least amount of kicks, similar to golf. Does FootGolf require running or tackling, similar to football? No, FootGolf mirrors the rules and etiquette of golf, therefore no running or tackling is required. What’s your recommended age group for kids?  We recommend kids upwards of age 7/8 to play footgolf on the course as it can be daunting for younger kids (under 7) to walk 9 holes and kick a ball around. Will FootGolf damage the golf course? No. FootGolf players are not allowed to wear soccer boots (with stats or spikes). They have to wear normal sport shoes or golf shoes. Spikeless soccer shoes are allowed. How long is a round of FootGolf? FootGolf will take about an hour to complete 9 holes (for 2 players). It can take up to an hour and a half for 4 players. How do I score FootGolf? FootGolf follows the same scoring principle as golf. On a par 4, if you kick the ball 4 times, you will get a par. FootGolfers follow the common etiquette of golf, which are:

  • The person furthest from the hole kicks the ball first
  • Keep up with the group in front of you
  • If you are in the bunker, make sure your rake the bunker once you kicked your ball out
  • Displays of frustration are one thing, but outbursts of temper are quite another. Yelling, screaming, throwing clubs or otherwise making a fool of yourself are unacceptable
  • Remember to shake hands with your fellow FootGolfers after you finish your round

Can I bring my own alcohol when playing? No, our premise is strictly no BYO. All alcohol must be purchased at the bar. How many players maximum in a group? Similar to golf, the maximum numbers of players in a group is 4. This is to ensure a smooth flow of foot golfers on the golf course (similar to a golf tee sheet). We will try to accommodate groups of families (especially with kids) but during busy times (weekends), we have to limit the group size to 4.
