The inaugural FootGolf Challenge Trophy was played on Friday, 14 April (Good Friday) 2017

Teams of 4 compete with a 5th player (reserve) and will play in pairs against other team’s pairs. Cost is only $150 per team. The balls provided must be used for this tournament. BBQ lunch is included in the costs and drinks by purchase in the club’s bar.

Clubs will be drawn against each other randomly and will play 6 seperate matches ( 2 v 2) over 3 rounds during the day. No pair may be the same in any of the rounds.

All matches are over 9 holes of FootGolf.

Round 1 – SCRAMBLE. All players drive from the tee. Teams may then select which ball to play next and both players shoot their second shot from that position. This continues until the hole is completed. Lowest score per hole scores the goal. Ties score no goals.

Round 2 –ALTERNATE SHOTS (FOURSOMES). Teams take it in turns to shoot a single ball throughout the round. Lowest score per hole scores the goal. Ties score no goals.

Round 3 – MATCHPLAY (FOURBALLS). Each player plays their own ball. Lowest individual score on each hole scores the goal. Ties score no goals.

We are hoping to have a referee on each hole to answer any questions, adjudicate any controversies and more importantly to keep score! [Reserve players not participating may be asked to referee to help us out]

At the end of each round Lowest score on each hole scores 1 goal. Tied holes do not score. After 9 holes, there will be a result. Match winners score 3 points for a win, 1 point for a draw and 0 points for a loss.

After the completion of the 6 matches, a final league table will be produced to crown the Victorian Footgolf Clubs Challenge Champions. In the event of a tie, goal difference will be used as the tie breaker. If goal difference is again equal, then a Super Hole will be played under Fourball rules, between pairs of nominated players. If a tie results then the Super Hole is repeated with the remaining pairs, until a winner is determined.

Club shirts MUST be worn (home or away). There will be prizes for best dressed teams (full kit wankers encouraged), longest drive and closest to the pin competitions on Rounds 1 & 3.

NO FOOTY BOOTS TO BE WORN ON THE COURSE. FAST PLAY IS ACTIVELY ENCOURAGED. FLAGS ARE TO REMAIN IN THE HOLES AT ALL TIMES.
