Phoenix Day was the focus of our attention for this past month as its good to have target events to try and prepare the course for, the only problem was the weather leading into the event and with the wind storms the Sunday before leaving the course in a state of devastation. With the help of our trusty volunteers and regular groundstaff we all rolled our sleeves up and got stuck into the clean-up and by the Saturday had the course back into reasonable condition and with the understanding of the golfers I believe that Phoenix Day was a good day for all.

The clean up from the storm will take a while and options were looked at to help but it was decided to continue to clean up with our own staff and volunteers, we also had a couple of trees fall into neighbouring properties which we also will have to remove, the next phase after the clean up will be to start over again by planting some more trees into areas that were hit hard.

The new pumps are installed with all final connections completed and we are now waiting on the electrical side of things to be connected. Once this is done hopefully in the next few days we can prime the irrigation system and begin testing of the new pumps to iron out any little gremlins before we need them to swing into action.

The green edges on the 3rd & 5th greens were scarified and seeded and are now starting to produce the results that we desired which will stop the balls running off the greens and down the hill.

Spraying of the Lakes 7th fairway has been completed with 1 more spray of Round-up to go this week before we line plant it with couch grass in 2 weeks time.

Hills greens have been cored and topdressed and we will endeavour to have them back to there best as soon as possible and obviously the other main focus of our attention remains the clean up from the storms. I again thank the regular volunteers for their help with this and also the few extras that came along to help.
