A call to all Members and Friends of the Golf Club

As many of you are aware the golf course suffered significant damage on the afternoon of Sunday 8th October when the course was lashed with high winds in excess of 100kph, bringing down 40+ large trees and causing significant damage to the course. Removal of fallen trees and having the course in playable condition is our top priority and to date this work has been carried out by Derek and his team and an army of volunteers, to whom, as always, we can’t thank enough.

The ongoing removal of fallen and damaged trees will require assistance from professional contractors and the Board is therefore launching the Storm Relief Raffle with all money raised being specifically allocated to removal of fallen trees, course repairs and replacement of chainsaws if required. Anyone playing golf this week will have noticed the contractors commenced work on Wednesday, (pictured right). As you can imagine this equipment is not cheap and the money we raise will go directly to covering these costs.

Our initial target is $10,000. Many of us are time poor and don’t have the time to commit/volunteer and assist Derek with the clean up and we are therefore requesting Members and Friends of the Club to dig deep and support this initiative and help the Club achieve our goal and get the clean up completed as quickly as possible.

As always, The Board thanks all Members and Friends of the Club for their understanding and ongoing support of the Club.
